Dark Chocolate Pudding can be summed up as sinful decadence with a big dollop of unsweetened cream on top. Which somehow just makes it even tastier.
The fanciest of fancy pants puddings ever:-)
Perfect for those work/school lunches. And soo much better than those pudding packs from the grocery store.
Ingredients
- 11/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup dutch process dark cocoa
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter , cut up
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- Unsweetened whipped cream
Instructions
- In medium saucepan mix together the first four ingredients.
- Gradually stir in milk.
- Cook on medium heat, whisking constantly for 5 to 8 minutes.
- When pudding is thickening and starts to boil, reduce heat and cook 2 more minutes.
- Remember to whisk constantly!
- Stir in butter and vanilla.
- Press wax paper directly to top of pudding and allow to cool.
- Serve warm or chilled.
- Top with unsweetened whipped cream.
