These Orange Chocolate cookies are crispy, crunchy like crackers with a little sweetness from the orange icing dollop on top. And the best part is the dark chocolate that is drizzled over everything! A great addition to that giant cup of tea or coffee:)
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter , melted
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
- ICING
- 1 cup confectioner's sugar
- 2 to 3 tablespoons orange juice
- DRIZZLE
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line two baking pans with parchment paper.
- In mixer bowl mix butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in egg and milk.
- Stir together flour and cocoa.
- Mix in until incorporated.
- Roll dough out onto a lightly floured surface until 1/4 inch thick.
- Use round cookie cutter and cut out as many as possible.
- Roll out scraps and repeat.
- Place cookies onto prepared baking pans and cook for 10 minutes.
- For icing mix sugar and orange juice, icing should be very thick.
- Drop by teaspoonful onto top of cookie.
- Allow the icing to set up for about 10 minutes.
- Melt dark chocolate chips in microwave in 30 second increments until melted.
- Stir well and pour chocolate into the corner of a ziplock bag.
- Snip the corner and drizzle chocolate over cookies.
- Allow to cool completely.
