Summer is here and it is time for alllll the burgers!! A meatloaf burger may be a bit unconventional but, it is one of my hubs favorites and he is the worst picky eater ever…so it has passed the taste test over here πΒ Grilling meatloaf that is already tasty to begin with just sends it right through the roof(we used a charcoal grill)! Also, these burgers were made from leftover meatloaf and I used a hamburger mold to cut out circles but, I imagine they would be just as good if you just made burgers to begin with. I totally did not think of that at the time π. Just don’t forget to still use the awesome sauce that I always put on top of meatloaf. The recipe is below!
Ingredients
- 1 lb hamburger
- 1/2 lb ground pork(opt.)
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp mustard
- 2 cups finely ground breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp salt and pepper
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 1 tbsp pub-style mustard
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl mix the first 9 ingredients until well combined.
- Butter a 9x9 baking dish. Spread meat mixture into pan. Or Make hamburger patties for the grill.
- Mix the ketchup, vinegar, and brown sugar together and spread across the top of the meatloaf. If making hamburger patties- I would wait until the burgers are almost done and spread across the top of each patty.
- Bake in a 350-degree oven for 25-30 minutes or until done.
- To make hamburgers from the meatloaf cut out circles(or squares) and top with cheese of your choice. Grill for about 5 minutes or until cheese has melted.
- Mix mayo and mustard together and spread on each hamburger bun. Add toppings of choice and enjoy!
