Summer is here and it is time for alllll the burgers!! A meatloaf burger may be a bit unconventional but, it is one of my hubs favorites and he is the worst picky eater ever…so it has passed the taste test over here 😉 Grilling meatloaf that is already tasty to begin with just sends it right through the roof(we used a charcoal grill)! Also, these burgers were made from leftover meatloaf and I used a hamburger mold to cut out circles but, I imagine they would be just as good if you just made burgers to begin with. I totally did not think of that at the time 😂. Just don’t forget to still use the awesome sauce that I always put on top of meatloaf. The recipe is below!
Grilled Meatloaf Burger
Servings 2
Ingredients
- 1 lb hamburger
- 1/2 lb ground pork(opt.)
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp mustard
- 2 cups finely ground breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp salt and pepper
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 1 tbsp pub-style mustard
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl mix the first 9 ingredients until well combined.
- Butter a 9x9 baking dish. Spread meat mixture into pan. Or Make hamburger patties for the grill.
- Mix the ketchup, vinegar, and brown sugar together and spread across the top of the meatloaf. If making hamburger patties- I would wait until the burgers are almost done and spread across the top of each patty.
- Bake in a 350-degree oven for 25-30 minutes or until done.
- To make hamburgers from the meatloaf cut out circles(or squares) and top with cheese of your choice. Grill for about 5 minutes or until cheese has melted.
- Mix mayo and mustard together and spread on each hamburger bun. Add toppings of choice and enjoy!
