Mini donuts that are dipped in melted butter and rolled in cinnamon and sugar make the perfect fall snack or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon all-spice

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 cup apple cider syrup

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 cup butter, melted and cooled

  • Apple Cider Syrup
  • 2 cups apple cider

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

  • Topping
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1/4 cup melted butter

Directions

  • Apple Cider Syrup
  • Mix the three ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Cook until the mixture reduces slightly. Set aside to cool.
  • Donuts
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a donut pan with baking spray.
  • In a large mixing bowl whisk all of the dry ingredients together.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry and mix just until combined.
  • Put a large pastry bag inside of a tall glass. Fill the bag with the donut batter. Twist the top and snip the bottom tip to make a small opening.
  • Fill each donut mold. This should be just enough for 12 donuts with a small amount leftover.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until a tester comes out clean.
  • While the donuts are baking mix the cinnamon and sugar together in a bowl or plate. Melt the butter.
  • Remove the donuts from the oven and flip out onto a cooling rack. Allow to cool just enough to handle and dip each one into the butter and then the sugar mixture. Return to the cooling rack until cool enough to store.
  • Serve warm.
