Serendipitys Frozen PB Hot Chocolate is what every Monday needs… 🙂
Yea, if you are completely over Monday just go home and make one or two of these frozen hot chocolates!! Instant mood improvement.
I found this recipe in my bon appetit cookbook and had to make it. They are so good that I had to share the recipe here with you guys. You are welcome!
The chocolate part of this recipe is made ahead because it needs to be at room temperature at least before putting everything in the blender. So. You could make this a couple of days ahead and keep in the fridge for later. We can totally plan ahead for those Monday night meltdowns or Sunday Fundays either one!!
Enjoy and Happy Monday!
Serendipitys Frozen PB Hot Chocolate
Servings 2
Ingredients
- 6 1/2 oz. milk chocolate, bittersweet chocolate, & semisweet chocolate
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk, divided
- 1/2 cup chilled whipping cream
- 2 tbsp peanut butter
- 3 cups ice cubes
- chocolate shavings
Instructions
- Place assorted chocolates into medium metal/glass bowl. Set bowl over a saucepan of simmering water; stir until smooth and melted. Add sugar and cocoa to blend. Gradually whisk in 1/2 cup milk; whisk until sugar dissolves. Cool mixture to room temperature.
- Using an electric mixer, beat cream in a small bowl until peaks form. Place remaining 1 cup milk, chocolate mixture, peanut butter, and ice in the blender. Puree until smooth. Divide between 2 large glasses. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with chocolate shavings.
Notes
***I used crushed ice and ended up using around 5 cups of ice to get the consistency that I wanted. Just keep checking the blender before pouring out because no one wants too much liquid in a frozen hot chocolate!!
***I didn't use the whipped cream or chocolate shavings for this post but, they are yummy additions!
